The Department of Motor Vehicles will hold public workshops and hearings at the following location on the date(s) and time(s) specified:
The purpose of this Workshop/Hearing is to solicit comments from all interested persons regarding LCB File Number(s)
- R116-09, (Workshop) which relates to motor vehicles; revising qualifications for an authorized emissions inspection or testing station to be allowed to renew vehicle registrations (NAC 482.720)
- R125-09, (Workshop), which is in relation to vehicles; authorized a person other than an automobile wrecker, dealer of new or used motor vehicles or rebuilder to obtain a private bidder indentifying card and bid to purchase a vehicle other than a nonrepairable vehicle from the operator of a salvage pool; prohibiting a person who obtains such a card from purchasing from operators of salvage pools in this state more than three vehicles in any calendar year; and providing for the cancellation of any issued private bidder indentifying card. (Chapter 487 of NAC)
- R157-09, (Workshop), which is in relation to specifying the length of time that an evidence of compliance must be valid for registration purposes (Chapter 445B of NAC)
- (Workshop) to discuss the provisions requiring distribution of authorized station (2G) list when a vehicle does not pass the emissions inspection. (Chapter 445B of NAC)
- R134-09, (Hearing), which is in relation to motor vehicles; providing certain requirements for outdoor signs posted at motor vehicle body shops licensed by the Department. (NAC 487.150)
- R139-09, (Hearing) – which is in relation to motor vehicles; providing certain requirements for outdoor signs posted at authorized emission stations licensed by the Department. (NAC 445B.469)
- R014-09, (Hearing) - which is in relation to inspections motor vehicles in this State owned by the Federal Government (NAC 445B.443, .461, and .595)
If no person who is directly affected by the proposed action appears to request time to make an oral presentation, the Department of Motor Vehicles may proceed immediately to act upon any written submissions.
There is no economic effect of the regulation on the public, nor is there a cost to the agency for enforcement of the proposed regulations
The proposed amendment of regulations pertaining to Chapter(s) 445B, 482, & 487 of the Nevada Administrative Code does not overlap or duplicate that of any other state or local governmental agency. These regulations are not required pursuant to federal law, nor does the federal government regulate similar activities.
Persons wishing to comment upon the proposed action of the Department of Motor Vehicles may appear at the scheduled public hearing or may address their comments, data, views, or arguments, in written form to:

Written submission must be received by Department of Motor Vehicles on or before December 11, 2009.
A copy of this notice and if available in draft form the regulations to be adopted and/or amended will be on file at the State Library, 100 Stewart Street, Carson City, Nevada, for inspection by members of the public during business hours. Additional copies of this notice and regulations to be adopted and/or amended will be available at each of the Department of Motor Vehicles listed, and at the main public libraries listed, for inspection and coping by members of the public during business hours. Copies of this notice and the proposed regulation will also be mailed to members of the public upon request. A reasonable fee may be charged for copies if it is deemed necessary.
Upon adoption of any regulation, the agency, if requested to do so by an interested person, either before adoption or within 30 days thereafter will issue a concise statement of the principal reasons for and against its adoption and incorporate therein its reason for overruling the consideration urged against its adoption.
