The purpose of these workshops and hearings is to receive comments from all interested person regarding amendments to Nevada Administrative Code Chapter 360A, 482,485,108 and 445B.

NAC 482.008. Assembly Bill 249 passed during the 2005 Legislature mirrors definitions referenced in NAC 482.008. Since this language is adopted into NRS there is no longer a need for this regulation.

NAC 482.272. Senate Bill 49 passed during the 2005 Legislature changes the period for a Short Term Lessor Temporary Operating permit from 20 to 30 days.

NAC 485. Revises provisions governing self-insurance requirements. 

NAC 108. Revises reporting and processing requirements for vehicle lien sales.

NAC 482.020. Relating to exempting a retail business from licensing as a dealer.

NAC 482.070. Revising the time period for the application for temporary Business license.

NAC 482.281. Revising provisions related to the use of the name of the Department of Motor Vehicles in advertisements.

NAC 445B. Pollution Control Account to Local Governmental Agencies

Chapter 360A. Establishing general provisions for the administration of taxes paid on Motor Fuel and Special Fuel.

Chapter 366 Revising provisions related to Special Mobile Equipment and use of Dyed Special Fuel in Special Mobile Equipment. 

Chapter 482. Peace Officer defined for NRS 482.220.

If no person who is directly affected by the proposed action appears to request time to make an oral presentation, the Department of Motor Vehicles may proceed immediately to act upon any written submissions. 

There is no economic effect of the regulation on the public, nor is there a cost to the agency for enforcement of the proposed regulations.

The proposed amendment of regulations pertaining to Chapter 482,485,108,445B and 360A of the Nevada Administrative code does not overlap or duplicate that of any other state or local governmental agency. This regulation is not required pursuant to federal law, nor does the federal government regulate similar activities.

Persons wishing to comment upon the proposed action of the Department of Motor Vehicles may appear at the scheduled public hearings or may address their comments, data, views, or arguments, in written form to Patricia Bartlow or Kathy Rios, Management Services and Programs Division, 555 Wright Way, Carson City, NV 89711. Written submissions must be received on or before September 15, 2005. 

A copy of this notice and the regulations to be amended will be on file at the Nevada State Library, 100 Stewart Street, Carson City, Nevada, for inspection by members of the public during normal business hours. Additional copies of the notice and regulations to be amended will be available at each office of the Department of Motor Vehicles listed, and at the main public libraries listed, for inspection and coping by members of the public during normal business hours. Copies of this notice and the proposed regulations will also be mailed to members of the public upon request. A reasonable fee may be charged for copies if it is deemed necessary.

Upon adoption of any regulation, the agency, if requested to do so by an interested person, either before adoption or within 30 days thereafter will issue a concise statement of the principal reasons for and against its adoption and incorporate therein its reason for overruling the consideration urged against its adoption.
