New York Man's Remains Identified
NDI and Sheriff asking for the public's assistance in unexplained death
The Nevada Division of Investigation (NDI) has released the name of a man whose skeletal remains were found earlier this month in a remote area near Goldfield, Nevada.
50-year-old Bryan Brady was a resident of West Hempstead, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, leaving no direct next of kin.
An acquaintance, Doris Balsamo of Sarasota, Florida, told NDI Brady had been despondent over the deaths in his family and had traveled between New York and Florida before his death. His presence in Nevada remains unexplained.
NDI and the Esmeralda County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's assistance as the investigation of Brady's death continues. Anyone who may have had contact with Bryan Brady or who knew of his whereabouts prior to his death is asked to call NDI Investigator Martin Roberto at (775) 687-3779 or Sheriff Ken Elgen at (775) 485-6373.
NDI estimates Brady's body had been in the desert for about one year before the remains were found by a Goldfield resident on August 1st. The remains were turned over to the Washoe County Coroner's Office, which has not yet issued an official cause of death.
