Doctor, Pharmacist Arrested on Illegal Prescription Charges

NDI Undercover Sting Results in Search Warrants

The Nevada Division of Investigation (NDI) concluded a two-month undercover operation yesterday and today with the arrests of Las Vegas physician William O. Harrison, M.D. and Registered Pharmacist Henry Kuo.

Harrison was arrested June 18th, 1998 after selling numerous unlawful prescriptions for controlled substances to an NDI investigator acting in an undercover capacity. Harrison was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a 10-count arrest warrant for unlawful prescribing of a controlled substance.

Harrison is a Nevada licensed physician employed by Bechtel Nevada as Clinical Services Director. Harrison is also employed by the "Inn House Doctor", a business which provides 24-hour physician services requested by tourists and hotel guests in Las Vegas.

Henry Kuo was arrested June 19th, 1998, after NDI investigators purchased numerous controlled substances from him without a written or telephonic prescription. Kuo was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a 4-count arrest warrant for sales of controlled substances.

NDI investigators also executed search warrants at Harrison’s Las Vegas residence and at the Family Pharmacy, 4069 Spring Mountain Rd.

During the course of the investigation, officers were able to substantiate that Harrison and Kuo had a mutual agreement refer individuals to the other to illegally obtain controlled substances.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Nevada State Pharmacy Board and the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.
