Joanne Keller assumes top post for Traffic
Registration Assistant Chief Joanne Keller was named today as Highway Safety Coordinator by Deputy Director of Public Safety Raymond L. Sparks.
Ms. Keller will head up the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), a unit within the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety. OTS is the federally recognized highway safety office of the state of Nevada which includes the following programs: Seatbelt & Impaired Driving Education, Pedestrian & Bicycle Safety, Motorcycle Safety and the Safe Communities Coalition. OTS also allocates federal grant monies to local law enforcement and other local jurisdictions for DUI and seatbelt education and enforcement.
"I look forward to joining our dedicated team of experts at the Office of Traffic Safety," Ms. Keller says. "They have made incredible progress in making Nevada's highways one of the safest in the country."
Ms. Keller replaces Mr. Paul Corbin, who accepted the Chief of Police position in St. Charles, Missouri.
