DMV & PS Unveils New Henderson Office at Grand Opening Ceremony

18,600 square foot, customer-friendly office now open

The Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety opened their newest full service 18,600 square foot, 5.75 acre facility today. The office is located at 1399 American Pacific Drive, next to the Ocean Spray Cranberry facility in Henderson. The office is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Funded by the 1995 Legislature's Capitol Improvement Program at a cost of $3,423,000, the new Henderson facility houses Drivers License, Registration and the Bureau of Enforcement. The new full-service office features several customer-friendly amenities, including: sit down counters, a kid's play area, a full motorcycle testing area and the Q-Matic customer numbering system that eliminates standing in line for services. The office is designed specifically for the new "one stop shopping" concept that all statewide DMV & PS offices will offer by mid 1999.

"We are pleased to announce the much-anticipated opening of the Henderson office," said Don Denison, Director of the DMV & PS. This facility will provide first time or long time Southern Nevada DMV & PS customers an attractive and efficient environment to conduct DMV & PS business."

The grand opening ceremony's special guests include: Senator Bill O'Donnell, Assembly person Barbara Cegavske, Assembly person Sandra Tiffany, Rita Mier from Senator Bryan's office, Susan Petersen from Gov. Miller's office, City of Henderson's Assistant City Manager Terry Zerkle, Lyle Randle from Carson Construction, State Public Works Board Manager Eric Raecke and State Public Works Board Architect Chris Chimits.

The DMV & PS office that has serviced the Henderson area at 874 South Boulder Highway discontinued service at 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 29.
