|FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE||July 1, 2013|
An air conditioning failure has forced the closure of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles office at 8250 West Flamingo Road in Las Vegas.
Department officials ordered the closure of the building just after 2 p.m., Monday, July 1, as the temperature in the building approached 100 degrees. One of the two air conditioning units in the state’s largest DMV office has failed.
Nevada motorists are being asked to use other offices or delay visiting the DMV until later in the week. The DMV also offers more than 20 online services and has self-service kiosks at 25 locations throughout the Las Vegas valley.
The DMV employees at West Flamingo have been sent home for the day. They will report for work as usual tomorrow morning. If the West Flamingo office remains closed, they will be reassigned to the other DMV offices.
A decision whether to reopen the office will be made tomorrow morning. Please check the DMV website for details at www.dmvnv.com
