The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles is asking customers to visit the Henderson DMV only in the mornings or to use other DMV offices for the remainder of this week.
The branch at 1399 American Pacific Dr. has been suffering from a partial breakdown in its air-conditioning system. The office will remain open, but due to the near-record high temperatures this week, the staffing will be reduced from 3 p.m. to closing until the system is fixed.
Two of four compressor units on the building failed earlier this week. The department is waiting for new units to arrive from out-of-state and be installed.
The office is expected to be fully functional by Monday. In the meantime, the department is asking customers to visit the Henderson DMV only in the morning hours or to use the department’s other offices.
“We appreciate the public’s patience,” said DMV Director Bruce Breslow. “I particularly appreciate the dedication of all our employees who have continued to work hard in this oppressive heat."
The DMV offers a host of online services on its website and self-service kiosks in 25 locations throughout the Las Vegas area. Visit www.dmvnv.com for details and locations.
