The DMV’s self-service kiosk in Fernley is now available during the evenings and weekends after the department relocated the machine from Fernley City Hall to Scolari’s Food and Drug earlier this month. Local residents will also benefit from four new services on the kiosk.
The Fernley Scolari’s at 1400 US Highway 95A is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day. It is the sixth Scolari’s location to offer a DMV kiosk.
"We are proud to help bring this time-saving convenience to Fernley," said Joey Scolari, Chief Executive Officer for the Nevada-based chain. "With the 'DMV in a Box,' our customers can shop and take care of DMV business at one location."
The kiosks offer vehicle registration renewals, insurance suspension reinstatements and driver history printouts. The four new services added earlier this year include driver license and identification card renewals and the ability order a duplicate license or ID.
"Scolari’s has been a tremendous partner in helping the DMV bring its services closer to the public," said DMV Director Bruce Breslow. "Now Fernley residents can take care of many DMV transactions at their own convenience."
In addition to the six Scolari’s locations, kiosks are available at DMV offices, one AAA office in Reno and the UNR Joe Crowley Student Union in the Reno/Carson City area. In southern Nevada, kiosks are located at 25 locations including DMV offices, AAA, Albertsons supermarkets and the UNLV Student Union. Maps and complete information are available on the DMV website at www.dmvnv.com/kiosk.
