CARSON CITY, NV –"DMV in a Box" will be on display in the main hallway of the Legislative building this next week, Monday through Wednesday, April 4-6.
"We think these new machines will revolutionize the way Nevadans use the DMV," said Director Bruce Breslow. "The DMV intends to bring ‘DMV in a Box’ into neighborhood retail centers, university campuses, business centers and key rural areas where people live, work, play and study."
The Legislature is considering Senate Bill 441, which would move the kiosks out of the Highway Fund and into a self-funded program. If the bill passes, the department will deploy up to 80 new kiosks with no up-front costs to the taxpayer. SB 441 will also enable the addition of many new kiosk services such as driver's license and ID card renewals.
