Nevada motorists can now find out how long a DMV office visit might take by visiting the department’s website. Average wait times for general transactions at the department’s six busiest offices, including the Reno and Carson City offices as well as the four offices in the Las Vegas area, are displayed on the department’s website home page. The wait times are expressed in minutes and updated every 90 seconds.
“This is another small but important part of our effort to make doing business with the DMV as fast and convenient as possible,” Director Bruce Breslow said. “If you absolutely have to visit an office, going on our website and checking the wait times of the six offices can help you plan your visit.”
Wait times at the various DMV offices can vary significantly. Just after noon today, the average wait time for a general transaction at the West Flamingo office was 58 minutes while the wait time at the Henderson office was only nine minutes.
“It’s always a good idea to check the department’s website at www.dmvnv.com before visiting a metro office because there’s a good chance you can complete your transaction on line,” Breslow said. “If not, then the office wait times may save you time.”
