| NEWS FROM: Compliance Enforcement Division | 10-021 |
The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles has alerted law enforcement nationally of the arrest of an identity fraud suspect in Las Vegas. Investigators hope the alert will help solve cases in other states and determine the suspect’s true identity.
The man was arrested November 22 at the Nevada DMV office on East Sahara in Las Vegas while applying for a duplicate Nevada ID card under the name of Frank Anthony Bimbo. His DMV record had been previously flagged for fraud by the department’s Facial Recognition System. Investigators have found he has at least 11 different identities including 10 Nevada records established between 1997 and 2007.
The suspect is being held at the Clark County Detention Center as a John Doe. He is a white male with records indicating he is anywhere from 23 to 38 years old. He has been charged with two felony offenses related to the arrest. He was also wanted on multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants under several identities. Bail has been set at $35,000 with three initial court appearances set through January.
Anyone with further information is being asked to contact the DMV Compliance Enforcement Division at (702) 486-8626.
