Nevada motorists who receive a postcard that instructs them to log on to a web address that begins with “NV” are being targeted for a vehicle warranty sales pitch. The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles did not send out the card.
The postcard says "An approval alert has been processed. Activate alert with secured login below." The card then lists a web address that begins with the letters "NV." The website lists an 877 phone number and calling that number results in a sales pitch for extended vehicle warranty insurance.
The department’s official website is at www.dmvnv.com.
