IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 29, 2008
NEWS FROM: Directors Office 08-003
The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles’ Carson Valley office will open Monday, Oct. 6 at a new location. The new office, at 1352 Highway 395, Suite 109 in Gardnerville’s Center at Waterloo is larger and has more parking than the old office in Minden.
“We’re going from 3,500 square feet to over 5,000,” DMV Director Ginny Lewis said. “More importantly, though, we’ve had a hand in the construction from the first nail, so the office is specifically designed for DMV business.”
That will result in better customer flow and faster service, according to Lewis. The new office also has a separate debriefing and testing room for driver’s license applicants, an information booth and more service counters, all improvements over the Minden location.
The old DMV office, at 1694 County Road in Minden, will close for good Thursday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. Lewis said the department will make the move Friday, Oct. 3 and open for business in the new location Monday.
“Not only will our new office allow us to serve our Carson Valley customers better,” Lewis said, “it will give us the room to grow as the valley grows.”
