Former Car Dealer Cited by DMV

Joe Di Lonardo, owner of Great Western Motors, Inc., was cited this morning by DMV Compliance Enforcement officers for trying to sell cars without a used car dealer’s license. Di Lonardo’s license was revoked in December of last year for violations relating to consignment vehicles and failure to pay court judgments.

The citation followed a sting operation by an undercover officer yesterday, prompted by complaints to the department. During the sting, Di Lonardo attempted to sell three vehicles to the officer at Di Lonardo’s business site on U.S. Highway 50 East in Carson City.

Di Lonardo was cited on a misdemeanor violation of NRS 482.322, which requires automobile dealers to obtain a license from the Department. He was ordered to appear in Carson City Justice Court May 3.
