Henderson DMV Closed This Afternoon
Air-Conditioning Problems Force Shut Down

The Department of Motor Vehicles office at 1399 American Pacific Dr. in Henderson is closed this afternoon due to malfunctioning air conditioning.

Customers at the branch are being given maps to the Department’s four other offices in the Las Vegas valley. Employees have been sent to the other offices.

The air conditioning problems began last week with the failure of a fan inside the main air conditioning unit. The State Buildings and Grounds Division has replaced the fan and is now troubleshooting further problems. The unit’s manufacturer has been called in to assist.

The temperature inside the building today exceeded 100 degrees. Managers closed the office for the protection of customers, employees and equipment.

The office will reopen at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. It may or may not close early again depending on conditions.

DMV customers with simple transactions such as a registration renewal are encouraged to visit the Department’s web site at www.dmvnv.com.
