The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles office in Winnemucca will offer only limited services on Thursday, February 21^st and Friday, February 22^nd, 2002, as new counters are installed in the building at 3505 Construction Way.

The office will remain open only for simple services such as information, forms and movement permits. Staff will not be able to issue or renew licenses or vehicle registrations. The office will reopen with full services at 8 a.m. Monday, February 25^th.

The counters are being replaced to accommodate the DMV's new digitized driver's license system, scheduled for implementation in April 2002. The $19,600 remodeling is being accomplished by Silver State Industries, a self-supporting industrial program within the Nevada Department of Corrections.

The DMV encourages motorists to use its Internet site at www.dmvnv.com for renewals, forms and information. Motorists may also call the department toll-free at 1-877-368-7828. Many transactions, including address changes and special plate orders, can be completed through the mail. Motorists who must visit the Winnemucca office should do so prior to the remodeling if possible.
