Mesquite DMV Closed Due to Flood
Office May or May Not Reopen Monday
The Mesquite office of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles was closed today due to flooding from a severe thunderstorm Thursday night.
The office in a private shopping center at 330 N. Sandhill Road suffered a roof leak into a lighting fixture. A ceiling tile collapsed over a DMV computer workstation and the office experienced minor flooding.
Electricians were called into to inspect the electrical safety. Roofers are scheduled to repair the roof on Monday.
DMV employees remained at the office Friday to help customers as much as possible. The office may or may not reopen Monday depending on whether expected rains over the weekend cause more damage.
