State Computer Delays DMV Operations

DMV Statewide Office Computers Down from 8:00am-10:30am

DMV computers in offices across Nevada were not operational from 8:00am-10:30am Monday, May 21^st due to a malfunctioning State computer, which is managed by the Department of Information Technology. The Genesis application was not involved in this problem, but because of the State main frame computer problem, it remained down until the Department of Information Technology was able to make the necessary fixes to its network.

Officials from the DMV were notified by the Department of Information Technology that attempted weekend fixes to the system network were not operational on Monday morning, which was the cause of the problem in the downed DMV computers and other state agency computers.
