Flag-Day Ceremony Held on June 14th

The Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety's Training Division Academy and the Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Academy are commemorating Flag Day with a special flag raising on Wednesday, June 14 at 8:00 am at the Nevada Public Safety Academy, 2101 Snyder Ave. in Carson City.

More than 50 cadets from the POST and DMV&PS academies will be in special formation in honor of our nation's colors.

The DMV&PS Training Division is responsible for the basic law enforcement training and the continuing education of all the Department's peace officers. Public Safety Divisions for the DMV&PS include Nevada Highway Patrol, Capitol Police, Nevada Division of Investigation, Parole and Probation, the State Fire Marshal and the Motor Vehicle Compliance Enforcement Division. The Training Division also provides programs for non-sworn employees and career enhancement opportunities for all Department employees.

POST is a Cabinet-level commission which reports to the Governor. It operates a law enforcement academy to train peace officers from rural jurisdictions.
