Parents invited to learn how to properly install a child passenger safety seat

WHAT: Officials from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, in cooperation with REMSA, will conduct a free Child Passenger Safety Seat Checkpoint. Parents interested in learning about the proper installation of child passenger safety seats are urged to attend. Educational materials on child passenger safety seats will also be provided.

WHEN: Friday, September 22, 2000
1:00pm-4:00pm

WHERE: Carson City Wal-Mart - Southeast corner of the parking lot at Clearview and Hwy 395

WHO: Nevada Office of Traffic Safety and REMSA child passenger safety seat experts

WHY: Previous checkpoints have revealed that the majority of parents who visit child passenger safety seat checkpoints DO NOT have their safety seats installed properly. Some parents are also using seats that have been recalled, are not in proper working order or are placed in the wrong area of the vehicle.
