Former Employee of Esmeralda County Treasurer Arrested for Embezzlement
Employee charged with two felony counts of embezzlement

A joint investigation by the Nevada Division of Investigation and the Esmeralda County Sheriff's Office led to the January 12, 2000 arrest of Leilani "Lani" Gordon on two felony counts of embezzlement.

Gordon, a former employee of the Esmeralda County Treasurer/Clerk Office is charged with embezzling $500.00 from the utility fund and $256.81 from the property tax fund. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned in justice court on February 7, 2000.

The Nevada Division of Investigation, a Division of the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety, assists local law enforcement jurisdictions in criminal investigations.
