The DMV accepts cash, checks, money orders for the exact amount, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Debit cards are processed as credit.
Please do not mail cash. If you wish to use a credit card with mailed transactions, complete a Credit Card Authorization (VP 205) form.
Expiration Terms Top ↑
Most driver licenses and identification cards issued in 2018 and later are valid for 8 years.
Licenses issued to those age 65 or older and Driver Authorization Cards are valid for 4 years.
License or ID card holders with terms of less than 4 years are charged the 4 year fee.

Fee Exemptions for Duplicates Top ↑
The Department is authorized to waive the fees for homeless persons and recently-released prisoners to obtain a duplicate Nevada driver's license or identification card. This is a one-time exemption for duplicates only.
